Best Shops For Vegan Shoes and Bags

For me, a huge part of being vegan is a lot deeper than simply what I eat – meaning I also only wear vegan fashion products such as vegan shoes for women and vegan handbags. Shortly after adopting a plant-based diet I started to evaluate my clothing choices as well. It didn’t make sense to me to eliminate animals from my diet, but wear them still on my body. I made the decision I would never purchase any products with leather, suede, silk, wool or feathers again. I knew this would prove to be a huge challenge, especially as I previously loved the style of clothes from The Black Ravens as well as top fashion stores.

When I first started my hunt for vegan fashion I felt extremely overwhelmed. I’m not going to lie to you, it’s still quite a process at less-vegan friendly sites to read each material of each shoe, and email the company to double check that there’s no animal products. (But HEY that’s why I keep posting fashion on this little blog of mine — hopefully if you like what I wear it will help eliminate that searching process for a lot of you).

MAINSTREAM RETAILERS

First off, you can definitely find many vegan products at more mainstream retailers that you probably already shop at — it will just take a little more time and research. Places like , , , and more all carry vegan shoes and handbags. Unfortunately they don’t sort it out for you so you will have to individually check the “materials” of each product. Be careful with alternative words like “nubuck” which is still suede. I’ve also found some vegan shoes at places like and , but I usually double check by emailing the company to make sure the sole isn’t leather as well. Most of the time they’re pretty good about responding.

FAST FASHION

Cheaper stores like , Forever21, and always offer a huge selection of vegan shoes and bags and are great if you’re on a budget.

EASY ONLINE STORES

and Lulu’s are my favorite online stores for a quick and easy search. Lulu’s has a whole “Vegan” section for shoes and it is phenomenal. So many affordable, trendy shoes that I know you will love. Zappos is great as well (especially for men’s shoes!) and you just need to type “vegan” in the search bar.

DESIGNER BAGS

I’ve been a longtime fan of , but her bags are definitely on the pricier end. If you are looking for a designer bag that is a little more friendly on the wallet, I absolutely LOVE Filbert, , Veggani (above), and Melie Bianco.

DESIGNER SHOES

I recently discovered By Blanch (above) but I am in love with their array of classic yet trendy, quality vegan options. I also have my eye on a pair from Nicora.
